Inventory Manager is a Windows application that enables Family History Center staff to transmit film and fiche orders.
IM 2.2 Network Installation
New Installation

Install according to standard instructions from F&CHD

Copy all contents of the c:\program files\family history\inventorymanager\ directory to a network directory (UNC or mapped drive). For example: \\server\im$ or i:\

Modify the following registry settings (using \\server\im$): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LDS Church\FHCIM\Back Path = \\server\im$
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LDS Church\FHCIM\FHCIMBackup.exe = \\server\im$
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LDS Church\FHCIM\Front Path = \\server\im$ -
Update the IM desktop shortcut created during installation. The target and startup directory need to point to the new network location. For example target = c:\program...\msaccess.exe...\\server\im$\FHCIMFront.mde and startup directory = \\server\im$
Upgrade Installation

Make a copy of your FHCIMFront.mde and FHCIMBack.mde and place it in a temporary directory

Uninstall previous versions of IM

Follow steps 1-4 found in the previous section (new install)

Move FHCIMFront.mde and FHCIMBack.mde created in step 1 to your new network directory (replace existing files) Note: F&CHD has reported simultaneous read-only activities in IM over a network will work but modify activities have the potential to corrupt your IM data.
Modem Configuration
It may be possible to configure the modem via the RemoteWare Node Communications utility, c:\nodesys\nodecomm.exe. The mainscreen is shown below.

which are compatible with an internal Lucent Technologies Win Modem on COM2.
